Set up stopfakeclicks with Google Tag Manager
At launch, add website tracking, then connect the Google Ads exclusion script.
1
Step 1
Copy your website tracking code from stopfakeclicks.
Tip Use your account’s website tracking code, not the Google Ads exclusion script. Installation is available at launch.
2
Step 2
In Google Tag Manager, create a Custom HTML tag and paste the website tracking code.
Tip Use the container installed on the website you want to protect.
3
Step 3
Set the trigger to All Pages, then preview your container.
Tip Follow your consent requirements and check that the tag fires only when permitted.
4
Step 4
Publish the container and verify a test visit in stopfakeclicks.
Tip Check Preview and your site’s security policy if no visit appears.
5
Step 5
Copy the separate Google Ads script; open Tools → Bulk actions → Scripts in Google Ads.
Tip You need admin access. Never paste the website tracking code into Google Ads.
6
Step 6
Paste the Ads script, authorize it, and schedule it hourly.
Tip Keep watch-only mode for the first 7 days. Confirm Script connected before enabling exclusions.
